Why most people are full of it! Don't be a dick - don't be full ofshit!
I've got an exercise for you. For the next seven days, make a concerted effort to count how many people with whom you come in contact who end your conversation with "I'll call you," or "Let's get coffee!" or "We should connect for a drink!"
In two weeks, go back and visit the list you made, and see how many of them followed up on their suggestion.
The answer will more than likely be "none."

We live in a world where 99% of the people you meet are full of shit. It just is. It's not up for debate, it's not a scientific fact, it just is. I think this is the case for several reasons, but the most logical one is as follows: We all want to be thought of as "The nice guy." Ironically, by doing this, we usually come across as full of shit, as opposed to the nice guy. If we play the nice guy role in the beginning "Call me! Happy to help!" Or "Let's get coffee!" and then never follow up, or cancel plans, or never answer the resulting email, not only are we blowing our "nice guy" persona, but then we're proven as even worse than a "not nice guy," we're proven to be full of shit. At least if you're not nice and honest, you're true. But being nice on the surface and never returning the call moves you from "nice" to "not nice" to "full of shit." And that's the worst place to be.
Others are full of shit because they only look out for themselves, feel the need to attempt to win by taking everyone else down, or simply put, just don't care. Whatever the reason, just look around - there's no doubt we're living in a world full of people who are just full of shit. I'm on an Amtrak as I write this, and the guy next to me just got off his phone with a "OK, you too - Totally have to get together, no doubt, I'll call you!" He hangs up, and under his breath, as he's shaking his head, he mutters, "douche."
So if that's the case, there's one really awesome thing you can take out of it. If everyone is full of shit, it's never been easier to be at the top of your game and own the playing field. Think about it - It's the same logic as the kinda-thin girl who hangs out with fat girls - By comparison, she looks hot. If everyone else spends their time disappointing everyone else, all you have to do is rise 1% above the fray, and you win it all.
So here's how:
1) Exceed relatively low expectations. Again - We don't expect much out of people anymore. Used to be we'd expect stellar service on all counts - Whether it was the windshield being washed when we pulled up to the gas station, or our meal being brought to our table - that's pretty much gone nowadays.
Sure, it's awesome to set the bar totally high and exceed it. And I'm not saying don't do that. But focus on building your reputation piece by piece. If you don't want to have coffee with someone, don't suggest it as you're saying goodbye after your first meeting. If you DO want to have coffee with someone, why not suggest a Skype call, and when you email to follow up, upgrade it to coffee. Start off low and grow quickly. It's the easiest thing in the world to do.
2) Do "unexpected followup" daily. I have a big, big stack of business cards. Probably over 3,500, 4,000 cards. These are people I've met once, usually at a conference or trade show. They're not "contacts," per se, but they're also not complete strangers. I keep these cards in a giant fish bowl on my desk, where people who don't constantly worry about their weight would keep candy. Each day, I pull ten cards out, and email the people on them, just to say hi. No selling, not even that much talking about me - Just asking about them. How are they, what are they working on, etc. This keeps me "top of mind," and does two other things: Brings some of those people from "quasi-contacts" to "clients," and as beneficial, makes me first in their mind when someone they know asks if they know anyone who does what I do. Added bonus? I get to say hi. Nice touch.
3) Do the little things no one else does. You have any idea how many times I show up at early morning meetings with donuts? I call it "Insta-Hero." It's incredibly easy to be the Insta-Hero. Show up to an early morning meeting with Donuts. Make sure there's a full bowl of candy on your desk when people come by. ALWAYS carry a pen, a stick of gum, and a lighter. (And not just for people who smoke - Lighters can act as a scissor and burn down a loose thread, among millions of other uses.) Be the one who always does the little things, and you'll be the one people turn to when they have a budget to spend.
4) Find out what people are doing. If you had any idea on how many people I have Google Alerts, you'd call me the King of Stalking. But in fact, those alerts are one of the most helpful tools in my arsenal. Someone gets quoted? Drop a congratulatory note. Someone gets promoted? Send cookies. Someone takes a new job? Send a six pack. It's not hard, doesn't cost a lot, and keeps you well above the fold of mediocrity. Why? Because no one else does it. Again - When most people are full of shit, it doesn't take that much to not be! So don't be! Everyone wins! (Especially you!)
5) For God's sake, if you do nothing else, just be nice! A smile goes a hell of a long way towards proving you're not full of shit. Just by being a touch nicer - Offering to help someone put their bag in the overhead compartment, letting the obviously time-crunched person go ahead of you at Starbucks… You never know where these small, innocent acts can lead - But yo do know this - If they lead anywhere, they start off with the other person believing you're in fact, NOT full of shit - And from there, it's up to you to keep proving that.

An Excellent Overview of Why We Need Iodine
The intake of iodine from plants harvested on japanese-style traditionally-prepared soil is 12.5mg a day (the farmers use seaweed in composting) [I don't remember the source of this citation but it was good enough at the time for me to memorize it]. North americans, mainland europeans, and others with low soil levels of iodine, only get about 0.030 to 0.070mg of iodine per day [again, see note].

An excellent protocol for adrenal fatigue
Treating adrenal fatigue is as easy as:
- Adopting a natural whole-foods diet
- Avoiding junk food
- Drinking high quality water, not from the tap. Distilled or spring waters are best
- Eating five to six servings of vegetables each day through juicing or adding them to meals
- Avoiding white flour and other processed grains
- Adding sea salt to your diet, replacing your table salt
- Taking 2,000 to 5,000 milligrams of vitamin C each day
- Taking a high strength B-complex supplement
- Taking high quality fish oils
- Adding licorice root extract and kelp to your diet
- Doing a detox and using an infra red sauna
- Replacing toxic chemical products used around the house with non-toxic alternatives
- Spending some time in the sun each day
- Doing something fun each day
- Getting lots of rest
- Laughing
- Exercising
- Minimizing stress
- Taking negative people out of your life
If you take your treatment plan seriously, you can expect your adrenal fatigue to heal in:
- 6 to 9 months for minor adrenal fatigue
- 12 to 18 months for moderate fatigue
- Up to 24 months for severe adrenal fatigue

About Saying NO
You are entitled to say NO to the things that will directly hurt you: fire, jumping off a building, drinking poison, overdosing. People readily say no to something as extreme and dramatic as fire. But other No’s are more subtle. It might be harder to say no to cigarettes, alcohol, or toxic relationships. You decide what you say no to. Nobody else does. You Have the Right to Healthy Relationships and Real Love

Fwd: I get this question a lot. "What does Charlotte Gerson think of Dr. Patrick Vickers?"
To which I answer…
"I never asked Charlotte what she thought of Dr. Vickers. What I do know is that she trained Patrick in the mid-1990s at her home in San Diego. After that I really don't know what happened except that she believes the Gerson therapy should not be modified. Her reasoning escapes me as it does Dr. Vickers. I remember asking the doctor at the Gerson Institute if the therapy could be advanced? And she said not that she was aware of. Now, Dr. Gerson himself in the development of the therapy tried many new things including Coleys therapy that he was in the process of possibly approving as an adjunct to the Gerson therapy. Now from what I can ascertain logically in a sociopolitical business sense is the Gerson Institute needs to protect all of their existing documentation which is pure Dr. Gerson technology as it existed in 1959 when he died. Very little or nothing has changed. It does not allow for anything new or advanced to be added to the therapy. It has become institutionalized and they don't modify it if they do not have too. However there are advanced therapies that complement the therapy but since it is not part of the doctrine and existing trainings offered by the Gerson Institute it becomes a problem for them when science reveals excellent technologies that add to the therapy much-needed power to tackle stronger and stronger cancers that become more virulent

Aging and energy, by Bill Zimmermann
Every year new drugs are developed to help humanity. Sometimes they're good sometimes they're not so good but occasionally a drug comes to the surface that helps us exponentially. Stimulants that do not damage the nervous system are at the vanguard of this new technology of alertness. Stimulants like modafinil and Provigil hold great promise for seniors but they are not widely known or promoted for senior health. It is suspected that many Silicon Valley executives take modafinil every day. While we cannot prove this to be true it is also likely to be true as the grapevine appears to repeat this aleged fact over and over again.
Quite often therapies that work well or never never make it to your doctors office. Why this is nobody knows. Exotic therapies like Jim Humble's MMS CDS hallucinogens and others never make it to your doctors office yet they have efficacy as elegant as their capacity to cure malaria and other astoundingly difficult diseases for pennies. These products don't make it to market and they remain illegal in many countries because they compete with expensive pharmaceuticals that do not want their pockets picked. These companies influence Congress and law. The people are denied many therapies that can help them. One of the most significant therapies that has been ignored for over 30 years is hallucinogen therapy for psychological illnesses and dependencies on drugs. Certainly that is the only the beginning of the potential therapies for hallucinogens. Today is teams are being put together that are testing once again hallucinogens for their potential to QR psychological disorders addictions and other difficult diseases of the mind and the heart and the soul. We look forward to the results from these in the lifting of laws preventing the use of them by responsible citizens.
Drugs like modafinil and Provigil also hold great promise but when they were advertised as stimulants for executives the law came down on them and actually find the companies and force them to keep those drugs relegated to use for narcolepsy. While this genie got out of the bottle and the toothpaste is well out of the tube we cannot go back. We know that these drugs help humanity and that there are more drugs and natural compounds to come, nature at its best helping man like ayahuasca. Auahuasca therapy could be a boon to mental health in our country and all over the world. But the powers that be see it as a threat. How could something that has been used to expand consciousness for thousands of years picking set her to threat? Well, I will leave it to Graham Hancock and Terence Mckenna to fill in those blanks for you.
This article is about waking up to the fact that our physicians do not have our best interest at heart and quite often their hands are tied by laws that prevent them from growing as well. Well meaning physicians hands are tied. It's not always that they are under educated but also they are censored and affected by laws which make it impossible for them to treat people effectively went perfectly wonderful science is bringing to us drugs that really work.
For mental health to prosper in this country and around the world we are going to need another paradigm. We need to trash the entire mental health structure dismantle it and rebuild it. This old dynasty must go. For nothing I have seen in my lifetime that psychology or psychiatry has offered to me personally and others I know-have all been let down by toxicity poor efficacy and downright poisoning. Prozac is 70% plus fluoride. What on earth is that about?
Food for thought please leave a comment.

The other 50% of healing
To create ourselves in the moment we must take responsibility for proper vision within the moment. To dissolve the tumor is to envision it gone in the moment, being well, being whole and having healed takes place in the NOW not in the past. Right now. This is fundamental because it is how we create our current reality and our health. It is the "Chi Lel" or what is more easily remembered us medical tai chi but brings us closer and closer to healing. Compound that with formal yoga practice and we become a formidable force against all degenerative diseases especially cancer. Instead of racing for the cure we stop in stillness for the cure. No metaphor and no simile could be more exacting or more succinct.
The yoga of cancer demands we move into the present and remain there rejecting all duality all ego all materialism all western culture along with all of its borderlines boundaries and conflict. All these emotions, right wrong good bad all the extremes are the body's response to a toxic world and is directly associated with the creation and growth of cancers as well as many other degenerative diseases.
We must let them go and create the absence of disease in the present moment. As we cleanse with juices healthy meals and coffee enemas we find ourselves moving into the moment and the stillness especially during the time of a retention enema, we are isolated and forced into the moment. Reflection in this moment is the beginning of the yoga of cancer within the process of the Gerson therapy. In this process we are given the opportunity to see ourselves and watch from a vantage point outside of ourselves a place perhaps we have never seen before. We literally go outside of ourselves and look within perhaps for the very first time. This is the beginning of the spiritual side of healing and is half the battle when we practice successful healing within the Garson therapy. It is where the other half of healing comes from it is that which food enemas and juicing cannot heal. This is the yoga aspect of Gerson. It's the other 50%.

Regarding the difference between masking symptoms and genuine health
So now I am looking for an MMS protocol for healthy people. One that will slowly rid the body of parasites, clean up systems and work toward an authentic health experience. I have come to realize that people tend to accept ill health as part of the aging process or blame it on their genetics when nothing could be further from the truth. Quite often people get trapped in the health degenerating western symptom-relief cycle which drags people into physical and emotional despair. An example of this might be antidepressants like Prozac that make you feel "better" but that also calcify the pineal gland, turn off the whole-body network via the preponderance of fluoride in Prozac.
Health is not created by masking symptoms. Western medicine attempts this, and has no conscience about funneling people into this paradigm of symptom masking "health care." The result is pain anguish and despair and ultimately an untimely death.
It is very hard to convince a society who will take a pill that has a list of warnings about side effects as long as your arm to juice seven types of vegetables nine times a day and to take coffee enemas, as with the Gerson Therapy. No, they won't do it. They are cozy with their pills. Even if they are aware of the efficacy of natural cures they don't get the jump from masking symptoms and allowing for genuine health. Therefore creating that reality for themselves with ultimately is their choice.
So you work with the people you can, touch those who care and move to make a difference among those who get it.
What you have to do is make it easy for them. Starting people on MMS three times a day at a low dose (3 drops / 15 drops) begins the process of reversing cell damage. Putting them on the Gerson potassium and eliminating salt is also a good idea but hardly necessary except for eliminating salt which I personally believe is important. Others differ.
Helping others to begin taking responsibility for their health is a tricky road to hoe when you realize they themselves are their own worst enemy, but the roots of their behavior are found in marketing and social programming from television, and a culture that is most certainly not their friend.

Cancer Politics Hits the Gerson Community
As if it were not hard enough for cancer patients to find excellent treatment. Enter the Gerson Wars. The famed Gerson Institute known for the work of Dr. Max Gerson who died in 1959 ostensibly from poisoning by the competition has issues of its own. Maintaining control of its licensing has been a creeping problem for the Institute for many years. Much controversy surrounds the international rights of the Gerson name in association with the famous therapy it represents. Should clinics all over the world who strictly adhere to the therapy have the right to use Dr. Gerson's name? It really is not a matter of opinion. In some countries it is perfectly legal and in others it is not. At the time of this article our research is inconclusive whether or not it is legal in Mexico. Dr. Patrick Vickers has opened a clinic in Rosarito Mexico and claims that it is perfectly legal in Mexico to name his clinic Northern Baja Gerson Center.
Recently in a Gerson Facebook group this problem issue flared up for this writer when he joined the group and began discussing the Advanced Therapies available at Northern Baja Gerson Center. He was immediately censored by the moderator Kathleen who instantly jumped on the issue and requested silence concerning the person Patrick Vickers and his clinic.
What I gathered from this ambush was that Kathleen is either an employee of the Gerson Institute which grants licenses to two or three Gerson clinics internationally. It is unknown if international law protects the use of a name such as Gerson from copyright or use for a clinic practicing the actual therapy.
This writer quit the group with a final last word to the moderator about censorship, freedom of speech and the trappings of opinion to start a new Gerson discussion group open to all ideas as long as they are positive and productive.
Frankly I am sick and tired of politics, thinly veiled greed issues of money and control. It is the opinion of EcoHealthLab that Cancer is too dangerous to limit the work of Dr. Gerson to two or three "licensed" clinics when there are so many talented people who are well qualified and ready to get patients trained and started on the Gerson Therapy.
The question is how on earth can two licensed clinics take care of a world filled with cancer? It is impossible. Maintaining copyright to their materials and the Gerson name may sound good and right but in times of drastic emergency something has to give. The only question we have is "What would Dr. Gerson do? How would he react to the wide spread of his therapy?" Would Dr. Gerson place a strangle-hold on the therapy? Is it morally right to "patent" a therapy that is based in a simple system of eating and cleansing?
The answer to these questions are complicated and nobody has come forward to provide complete answers. In the mean time there are people dying while small people bitterly fight over exactly the same oppressive issues of money control and greed that got the Gerson Therapy banned in the United States in the first place. Like Israel some people never learn from their past. As Israel pummels and tortures and kills Palestinians they do so with no memory of what Germany did to them. This is human nature. But it is a neotany, a childish driven need to own possess and control in a juvenile court of small minds and big egos. An immaturity and temptation that most humans never escape.

Television violence may desensitize viewers
Study Ties Television Viewing to Aggression; Adults Affected As Well As Children
By Shankar Vedantam
Washington Post
Teenagers and young adults who watch even as little as an hour of television
a day are more likely to get into fights, commit assaults or engage in other
types of violence later in life, according to a provocative new study.
The more television people watch, the more likely it appears that they will
later become violent, an effect that researchers argued bolsters the case that
it is television that causes the aggression.
The study tracked the impact of television on violence among more than 700
young people over 17 years. Previous studies have found an association between
television violence and aggression. But this is the longest study to track the
consequences of TV viewing of any kind and the first to show that adults are
affected as surely as children, the researchers said. If the study had examined
violent programming alone, the link would have been more dramatic, they said.
"The correlation between violent media and aggression is larger than the
effect that wearing a condom has on decreasing the risk of HIV," said Brad
Bushman, a professor of psychology at Iowa State University at Ames who wrote
a commentary accompanying the study in today’s issue of the journal Science.
"It’s larger than the correlation between exposure to lead and decreased
IQ levels in kids. It’s larger than the effects of exposure to asbestos. It’s
larger than the effect of secondhand smoke on cancer."
The findings renewed debate over whether media violence contributes to violent
behavior.
Television and entertainment proponents said there was a long history of conflicting
results on the issue. "The consensus is there is no consensus," said
Dennis Wharton, a spokesman for the National Association of Broadcasters. The
National Cable and Telecommunications Association said in a statement that it
supports "responsible television viewing" and that its ratings system
allows viewers to block violent programs.
Jonathan Freedman, a psychologist at the University of Toronto, said the study
had failed to prove that television watching was the cause of the aggressiveness.
"It has nothing to do with TV—it has to do with lifestyle," he
said. "People who watch more than three hours of TV are different than
those who watch less than an hour."
The researchers said they tried to account for that possibility by statistically
eliminating the effects of parental neglect, poverty, dangerous neighborhoods,
a history of psychiatric disorder and other independent risk factors for aggression.
Although all the participants were from upstate New York, the researchers said
the group was broadly representative of the northeastern United States.
For the study, the researchers interviewed 707 teenagers about the amount of
television they watched. In 1983, the average age of the group was 14. Eight
years later, the scientists correlated the television statistics with police
and FBI records of violence, and interviews with the participants.
Of the group that watched less than an hour of TV a day, 5.7 percent had committed
a violent act that resulted in serious injury, such as a broken bone. Among
those who watched one to three hours, 18.4 percent had been violent. Of those
who watched more than three hours a day, the rate of aggression was 25.3 percent.
The researchers also re-interviewed the group about their television habits
and followed up after another eight years. While 1.2 percent of the adults who
watched less than one hour per day had committed a violent act, 10.8 percent
of those who watched three or more hours had inflicted a bruise, scar or other
assault. Men tended to be more likely to be violent than women.
The only definitive way to establish a causal link between television content
and the violence would be to conduct an experiment where some people are randomly
made to watch more TV for several years while others are made to watch less,
the researchers said.
"To force people to watch a certain amount of TV for a lengthy period
would not be permissible," said Jeffrey Johnson, a Columbia University
clinical psychologist and the lead researcher. "It’s analogous to research
on cigarette smoking. . . . You couldn’t force people to smoke a lot and see
if they got cancer."
Nielsen Media Research reports the average American household has the television
on for more than eight hours a day. Children and teens between 2 and 17 years
old watch TV more than three hours per day. Adult men watch more than four hours,
and adult women more than five.
Television violence may desensitize viewers, or depictions of violence without
its real-life consequences may prompt viewers to assume that it is acceptable,
the researchers speculated.
George Gerbner, who has done pioneering work on television violence and is
dean emeritus of the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of
Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, argued that the biggest consequence of TV violence
was insecurity, not aggression.
Watching programs about violent crime on dark streets, for instance, does not
turn people into muggers—it makes them fear becoming victims. Even as violent
crime in American society has declined, he said, heavy television viewing was
more likely to make the viewers believe they lived in an unsafe world.
"They may accept and even welcome repressive measures such as more jails,
capital punishment, harsher sentences—measures that have never reduced crime
but never fail to get votes—if that promises to relieve their anxieties,"
he wrote. "That is the deeper dilemma of violence-laden television."
